Snow strom

Here are a bunch of photos from Christmas evening. Ben went out and cleaned the driveway while Devin and I played in the house for awhile. Then we went to join Ben outside. Devin took his new shovel outside to help dad clean the driveway. Devin does not like standing in the snow, but since the driveway was already cleaned he was fine on his own. I love how he is following his dad.

Look at all of that snow next to Devin.
I'm right behind you!!!
He was getting big scoop fulls and throwing it. What a big helper.
this was right towards the end and he was getting cold and the snow he was throwing was ending right back on him. And he did not like that.

I hope we are done with snow for awhile now. We have enough and the roads are icey. And I am not sure if we have anywhere else to put it.

Christmas Day

I have to say that one nice thing about a two year old is that they can walk by the tree in the dark and think about the presents that are under there. He was up for about a good hour before he noticed the presents under the tree. But when he did he got very excited. He picked one up and said "present." So, we let him open his gifts. He said with PJs and a new puppy towel from Santa.
Then it was onto the Play-doh. Which he was very happy with.
And even more Play-doh and if you can tell there is a Star Wars theme going on. Can you figure out who picked out the Play-doh?!
Then we got some BIG "WOWs" next with this gift and the next.
Of course we had to open it right away.
Then it was "wow tractor!" He didn't even get all of the paper off and he was handing it to his dad to open it.
After playing for awhile he found the shovel that Santa left him. And then he had to shovel the kitchen.
Time to play with the Play-doh. He was content for a very long time.
We were unable to travel on Christmas day due to the LARGE amount of snow that we received. But we had a fun day as a family. We got in the morning and went for a walk and pulled Devin in the sled. We stopped to wish Jim; Ben's dad, a Merry Christmas and then headed to my mom's for lunch. after lunch we left right away because Devin was ready for a nap.
I hope everyone had a safe and Merry Christmas!!!

Snowy day

On Sunday we woke up to a new blanket of snow. Which seems like the theme for the week of Christmas. Ben got Devin all bundled up and they headed over to my mom's house for breakfast. I thought it would be better if I took the car over. Devin liked the sled, but did not like the snow in his face. When they left it was still snowing.
After breakfast and playing at Grandma's house for a little while everyone decided to head outside. Austin was getting his snow clothes on and Devin wanted his on also. After he was all bundled up again he fell over and just sat of the floor. He just kept saying, "I stuck" over and over.
Devin would only ride in the sled, but did not like when he fell off or too much snow got on him. He was very happy just being pulled around the driveway and up and down the road. He didn't want to go in the grass or on the hill at my mom's.
I got out the small shovels for the kids to play with, but look what happen. Two of the big "kids" had a snow fight with the shovels.
Devin thought it was pretty funny!!!!

Christmas

On Saturday we had Christmas with my mom. What a night!!!! I think we learned a few things when it comes to opening presents with two toddlers and a preschooler. And that is to just let them open all of their presents first and then be done for a while before we open ours. The less expectations you have the better. Devin does not like crowds or having a lot of people and/or stuff around him, so by the end of opening presents it was too much for him. He ended up playing in the kitchen or somewhere else that was not the living room.
I did get a few pictures, but not that many. Every time I took out my camera that is all he wanted and he would pout until he got something. That is why he has an old camera in the photo above.

We were able to get him to sit with daddy to open a few presents.
He really liked handing out presents to everyone. He would carry them over to Grandma or myself with such pride. And sometimes he would even help open them.
We had a nice Christmas, but we now know what we need to do with the kids when it comes to opening presents.

Cookie time

Last weekend I decided I wanted to make cookies. So, Devin and I got everything ready and had a fun time mixing everything up. But in the end I never did bake any of them. Devin had a melt down when I had to take the cookie press away and my back was hurting so I thought I would do it on Monday. Monday came and went and they never got done. Maybe another time.

Before and After

Well, I thought it was time that Devin should get a big boy hair cut now that he is two. And boy was I right, he looks so cute with his new cut. I did some before and after photos just for fun.
Before
After
That night was my Christmas party and Devin had a little sing along at Daycare. My mom took him to the sing along since it was reschedule from the original day and Ben and I went to my Christmas party. We had a good time and it was nice to go out with everyone I work with and for Ben to meet them

Birthday Time

Devin had another wonderful day. He got the chance to celebrate his 2nd birthday with all of his family and it was a great day. We had a little gathering at our house for lunch and cake. He was such a ham. I knew that he needed to eat before everyone got there. So, he spent a few hours over at my mom's while Ben and I got everything ready and she took the time to feed him. Which was a good thing. All he wanted to do was run around.
Again he loved to blow out his candles. I had to re-light them a couple of times, but I didn't care, he was having fun.

Our little guy turns 2!!!

On Friday was Devin's 2nd birthday. Wow, the time has really gone by fast. It seems like yesterday we were celebrating his 1st birthday and now he is 2. We wanted to do something on his birthday, so we had a little get together with our friends. We have a great group of friends and some wonderful kids. We had pizza and cake and a lot of laughs.
It was so much fun watching Devin open his presents this year. He was so animated in his surprise of what the gift was. Just take a good look at his face in this photo.

I wasn't too sure how blowing out the candles would go. The first time not so well, but I lit them again and he blow them out all by himself. I think I lit his birthday candles a half dozen of times or more. The kids had a great time blowing out the candles.
Group effort!

What a great day we had. Happy 2nd Birthday Devin!! We love you

Guitar Hero

This summer Ben got Rock Band for the Wii and we have played it a few time; mostly when Devin is in bed, but the neighbor boy has played it when Devin has been around. So, now Devin wants to play the guitar. He also knows that the Wii remote is to be used and where that is located and that just watching TV is not right.
Here you can see him jamming out!!

How can you not smile when looking at this photo!

Cousins

Last weekend Patrick surprised his wife with Vikings tickets, so the kids came to Blue Earth to stay at Grandma's house. What a fun time everyone had. All three played at our house first. I am not too sure Devin likes to share his toys. Everything was "Mine, Mine" but then again they are his toys and he is only one years old. (well ok almost 2 years old).
It was nice outside for the most part. Meaning it wasn't freezing or raining. We went out so that they all could get some fresh air and run wild and that is what they did.

This photo makes me laugh. I got them all something to drink and they just all stood their drinking away. I think the boys were either copying each other or copying Alexis. Because they wouldn't put their cup down until the other one would.

Big Boy Bed

This morning we all worked hard cleaning the living room and Devin's room. When we were working on Devin's room we decided to change his crib into a big boy bed. He likes climbing in there and jump up and down.

Here he is at naptime. We will have to see how this goes. It is one thing to sleep, but we have to see what happens when he wakes up.

Happy Halloween

What a beautiful afternoon the day turned out to be. After Friday being really cold, I didn't think it would be nice enough to be able to walk around. We went trick-or-treating with our neighbors. They have a 4year old daughter and a son that is only a couple of months younger than Devin.
Devin was a tiger for Halloween and once in awhile we would get him to roar when he went up to a house. He had a lot of fun trick-or-treating. He did really good going up to the houses, he always wanted to ring the door bell, and I think I might of even heard thank you from him once or maybe twice.
I love the tail in the back!
This is when we stopped at Mandy and Sean's house and he knew where he was. As soon as he saw the house he started running to the front step, but stopped as soon as he saw Mandy.
Devin was not sure of Mandy. You could tell that he knew the voice, but it just didn't look like her.
When we were almost done we took a quick (and I mine quick) photo of the kids on my mom's front step.
Devin and I at our last stop for the night.

After trick-or-treating was done, we dropped Devin off at my mom's for a few hours and we headed uptown. Red Lipstick was playing at Hamilton's, so there was good music and good friends. A nice way to end the night. It was fun checking out all of the costumes. There were a few that I had no idea who was wearing the costume.
