This Saturday

So coming up on Saturday August 20th, myself and a friend of mine having been working hard all summer for this day. We have been putting together a Kids Fun Triathlon!!!!! It will take part at Putnam Park in Blue Earth with the Race starting at 9am. It is for kids ages 5-14.

We have raised a lot more money then we thought that we would be able for our first year and this is something we want to do every year. I really hope that we have a good turn out for the event. When I see kids on the street they tell me that they plan on doing the triathlon. And that makes me smile! All of our proceeds are going to the BEA Foundation; which will turn go back to the kids whether it is with new classroom gadgets/ learning tools or some new fitness stuff.

I will hopefully have some pictures to post after the event!

Breakfast on the Farm

On Saturday Devin, my mom, and I went to Breakfast on the Farm (Ben had to work). It was held out at Kirsten and Andy's farm. Kirsten and I have been friends forever and it is always nice to visit with her. Devin was really excited about seeing all of the cows. They have a dairy farm and some chickens.

We started with some food; which Devin ate 2 whole pancakes!!!

Then we got a person tour from Andy, himself!!!! Devin wanted to pet a chicken, so I told him he had to ask and he sure did. He wasn't too sure about it after it started flapping it's wings.
He even got to milk a cow!!! This was his favorite and didn't want to leave. I think it he could he would have milked a real cow.

This was one really friendly calf.

Doggy Parade

Last Thursday evening Blue Earth had a Doggy Parade and we thought it would be fun to have Jordan walk in it. So, we added uptown for a fun little event. Thursday nights in Blue Earth is when the stores stay open till usually 7 or 8pm so it was a prefect day to have the parade and there were also sales going on too. Devin and I walked Jordan in the parade from the Bank to the news paper and then bank again. We even got our picture taken and made it in the Blue Earth paper. I think it was because Devin and I were walking Jordan (who is very small) next to a BIG Saint Bernard.

Boji!!!!

The last Saturday of the month we headed to the lake for the day and night. It was a great adult time. We left Devin for the first time without one of us and it went great. We spent the whole day on the lake, doing some boating, then some swimming, and then some more boating.

At the Barefoot Bar at the end of the night. We all enjoyed the sun and no kids!!!!

The Fair

The Fair was the same week as Grandpa's funeral, so we only went a few times. He is a review of what we did in photos.

Devin is one that loves rides. I think he is going to have to go with Melissa when he gets older to Valleyfair, because neither Ben nor I do roller coasters.

Grandpa Charlie

So, it was Sunday morning and we were getting ready to go to Pam's Bridal Shower when my Brother called. And I knew that something was wrong right away, but never imaged it was that Grandpa had passed. Grandpa Charlie had always been a big part of my life and I will miss him greatly. He had a massive heart attack and was gone right away, which for him was a good thing. So, I left the cities and headed home right away and then to Jackson. The visitation was Tuesday evening and wow it was a busy night. He knew a lot of people and was well liked man. I was so touched that my friends make the trip over to show their support.

After the service on Wednesday and the lunch we headed outside to do some family photos. Here is all 5 grandkids.
Pat's family and mine.

Our happy little family.

We took one with Grandma also.

What a great weekend

Pam was home for the weekend and we had her Bacholette party. A group of us wen tout Friday night for supper at Chinos in Uptown. Boy, do I love their food!!!!! Then Saturday morning, Pam, Brend, Barb and I went for mani/pedi. Then we headed downtown to the Marriott where we spent the night. Once the party was started and we had played a few adult games!!! We headed to the Twins game and then out on the town.

Green Giant Days

Green Giants Days is usually the 2nd weekend of July. We started Friday evening out with Devin and Sully doing a quick drip in the pool while I got a few things done before we headed out to the park. The McGuire's came over for supper and then we headed to the Green Giant for fun family event and fireworks.

Melissa was able to get her picture taken with the Green Giant (not so giant)!!!
It was another hot July day, so water tasted good. Just like last year it rained again, but i did not ruin the evening. Just a quick shower.

Saturday morning was the 10K, 2 mile run, and kids 1/2 mile run. I rode bike during the 10K as a pace bike. Once I got the 2nd runner in I headed back out to find Melissa and Jackie. They did an awesome job.

Here is a photo of the kids with their ribbons after the 1/2 mile.

Pat and Robin ran the 2 mile with me. All I have to say is that biking around 9 miles and then running 2 right away sucks. Wow, my back hurt along with my legs, but I did it.

I am so proud of these 2.

After the runs we headed uptown for lunch and a few games. Devin got his face painted.

Then we finished the evening out with the parade and supper at our house with family.

The 4th of July

Well, July did not start off to be the best month of the July. It was hot and muggy just they way I like summer, but it was also an emotional roller coaster. The Monday before the 4th I got a phone call telling me that my Uncle Jim had had a heart attack and was in the St. Cloud hospital. Then on Thursday they took him off of life support. So, we packed everyone up and headed to Brainerd. The service was not till Wednesday, but my family has a big get together on the 4th. They all meet for the parade and then head to my uncle John's house for supper. This was the first time in a REALLY long time that I have been there for this event. It is nice to be able to see hang out with my family, since my dad has passed.

We arrived early enough that we were able to hit the water before we headed downtime for the parade.Devin even went down the big slide!!!

And he loved it!!!!
My uncle Jerry goes and saves a big section of a parking lot and sets up tents to add shade. Most of what you see in this photo is all family.

More family!

On Tuesday we headed to a lake house of a family friend and spent the whole day playing there. This photo I took to the County fair and got a Blue Ribbon and a Reserved Champion Ribbon.

Firetruck ride

It is parade time and Devin got to ride in the firetruck with the Groe's and Coxworth girls. We rode all the way over to Bricyeln in the firetruck. Here Chloe, Devin and Bella are sitting in the back.
