Alexis' Dance Recital

Last Thursday was my niece's dance recital. I am so proud of her. She did an awesome job.

My favorite little dancer!!!!

Spring

Spring is here, but where is it. We have had a handful of good/nice days in the last month. About two weeks ago Pat, Robin and the kids came for the day and we all hung out at my mom's house. We all got a little sunshine and fresh air.

Devin had to test drive the Gator and see if it was ready to go. It is still at my mom's, at least for a few more weeks. First, the grass needs to dry (well it either needs to stoop raining and snowing soon for that to happen) and second he really needs to start working on riding his bike.
Alexis really likes her quiet time with Ben or at least his phone to play games!!!

Everyone helping get the grass ready for Spring.

Tea Cups

Here is a video of us riding in the tea cups. I love listening to Devin during this little clip.

Disneyland

Just to start off this is going to be a long post, but mostly pictures of our vacation. We started off last Sunday and Devin got to experience his first plane ride. His reaction to it was as we were going up, "this is way cool!!!" For a three year old he did a great job on the plane. The longest leg of our trip was from Chicago to California and the same when returning, it was a four hour flight then. Luckily he did nap both times!

When we got to California we got to our room and then headed out for a little while. That night was the only time that it misted/rain while we were there. When we returned we had treats waiting for us.
That next morning we headed down to our hotel's lobby. We got to have breakfast with a few different characters. This is one of Devin's favorites, Stitch. He wasn't too sure about the characters. It was OK if we held him, but as for going up to them on his own that was not happening.
The entrance into Disneyland!!!
Family photo!! They had photographers all over the place and they would takes pictures of you and your family and they even would do it with your camera.
This ride would be the one that Devin refers to as the "shot aliens" ride. He really liked to shot the aliens.
They also had a Jedi training session while we were there. Devin got to watch and even see Darth Vader.
Riding the horses was always a big hit.
Mickey Mouse!!!
This was at California Adventures and no we did not go on it. I asked Devin and he informed me NO.
Riding the fish.
Trying on hats. This one was a big hit.
The tea cups!!!!!!!!!!!
He loved them!!!
Getting ready for the ride to start.
Donald Duck
GoofySully from Monsters Inc. When we first saw him they informed us that he wasn't taking anymore photos, but would be back in 30 minutes. So we stayed in that same area and waited for 40 minutes and then we were first in line to get our picture taken with him. Devin watches this movie over and over everyday.
Of course mom wanted to get a photo with one of her favorite characters so we found Tinkerbell.
Devin enjoyed this ride also. He was able to drive the car, well with a little help from either mom or dad.
Sitting in Goofy's car in Toontown.
We went to ESPN just for dad. The two boys played a bunch of games, well I played a few too.
Then for supper we headed downstairs and ate at a table with a touch screen TV on it and a huge screen on the wall. Dad was in heaven.
To finish out our trip we had breakfast with goofy before we headed to the airport. Devin was able to have pancakes, pizza, and strawberries for breakfast. He was so excited about that.

Family Fun Night

At Devin's daycare they had a Family Fun Night where they were able to come and play and they put on a little performance for their parents. He really liked showing his grandmas and grandpa where his room was and what toys he likes to play with.
I was a little nervous that he would either just stand out there or would run to us and not want to do anything. Well I was completely wrong, he did an awesome job performing in front of the large group of people that were gathered around. He danced and sang, I was so proud of him.
Devin dancing!!!! Now I only wish I could have gotten him to dance at dance class the first time I took him. Maybe next year!!!
Their marching song.
At the end they were told to go find one person to go and dance with them. So grandma Phyllis went and joined him on the dance floor.

Alexis' Golden Birthday

This year Alexis turned 6 years old on the 6th of this month. We met them at Pizza Ranch in Fairmont for lunch and then headed to the Bowling alley there. It was a very nice afternoon. Devin was very excited about bowling, but didn't want any help. Which can be a problem when he is not strong enough to get the ball all the way down the alley, well he can but it takes a really long time for it to get there.
Daddy helping Devin out.
The birthday girl!!!
Devin was all about wanting to help Alexis open up the present that he picked out for her.
All three of them at the end. We had a great time, but I really don't think this is something we will do that often at least not till he is a little older.

Sledding

At the beginning of this month we had a few nice days that we were able to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Due to all of the snow that we have gotten this year, it is really hard to see at the end of our driveway, so Ben and Devin worked on trying to make the pile not so big. Devin's way of helping was to have a snowball fight. They have had paper snowball fights at daycare and he thinks that is so much fun and we should do it all of the time.
SNOWBALL FIGHT!!
Ben worked on cleaning the roof of the house, which meant the snow blower needed to come out and move the snow. Devin was having a blast running into the cloud of snow as Ben was blowing it.
We have gone to the sledding hill only once so far this year. We have gone over to the neighbors to their little hill and our own yard, but not the big hill. So, Ben and Devin made their way to the top of the hill and then down they came.
The bump in the hill gave them a lot of AIR!!!
All smile at the end, but really did not want to go down the hill anymore.
