Flower Shopping

For the second year in a row my good friend Mandy and I headed down into Iowa to do a little flower shopping.  Ok maybe not "little"!!!  It ends up being a great girls day and a lot of fun.

The back end after one stop.  And we made a total of 5 different stops.

That next weekend I took my mom down to the same places and even found a couple more Must Stop at places.  We had a great day, which we were not on a time limit that day, but then again that might have been a good things.  We left with another car full of flowers.  Even Devin rode along and helped pick out flowers and found a few for himself.

Here are a few of my creations!!!
I got Ben to help me put rock around my tree in the backyard and then I added a fairy garden (or two) under it.
Getting ready to plant the flowers.

Here are the two pots that I made for my dad.  He really like purple so I have tried to stay with that color theme.  This photo was taken a few days after I put them together and they now have taken off and are full!!

Spring Make and Takes

This Spring I took part in two different make and takes.  The first one was at Gartzke's Greenhouse and Devin got to come along.  This one like the winter one my mom and I attended together.  We both love flowers and planting them.  We were able to walk around and choose our own flowers to put in the pot.  Devin was even told he could pick one out to bring home for himself.

HE would keep picking up the petals off the ground and trying to put them in his hair!!!
He was my end result as of that night.  It has now really taken off and is full of blooms.
The second make and take that I did was a Fairy Garden class with the Master Gardeners.  It was a lot of fun!!

Easter 2014

This year we dye about 18 eggs and 6 of them we blew up the insides.  Devin even helped blowing them out.  I think he did about half and then I had to go back and make sure they were empty.

A few of the finished eggs!!
This year we did a couple of different ways of coloring for the eggs.  This one was the most fun for Devin.  Baking soda, vinegar, and food coloring!!!

Easter morning came with and egg hunt and Easter bunny gifts.

Grandma Phyllis came and visited us this year and we had a little hunt outside.  The day really warmed up and was one of the warmest days we have had in a long time.

 His new Clark Kent glasses!!!

Devin's Kindergarten Program

In May Devin had his Kindergarten Program.  Each class did their own thing and it was short and sweet.  The kids each had a different role to play.  Devin was part of the "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed".

Here is Devin with his Kindergarten teacher.  It was a great year for Devin and a lot of that is because he had an awesome teacher!!!

Just a little of random life

One evening the boys meet me in Mankato at the park.  I went up there with a couple to do their engagement photos and then did supper and a little shopping with my boys.
At the park there were out door workout equipment.  It is meant for adults, but I think Devin was having more fun and getting a workout in at the same time.

He is always great to help me out when it comes to taking pictures.  I had gotten a few new backdrops and was setting up for a session and was working on lighting, so I need a model.  Well, he will model but I am not saying any of the photos are of him smiling and sitting nice!!!!

Devin's first Tae Kwon Do Tournament

At the end of April Devin went to very first tournament and really liked doing it.  He did three board breaks and his pattern when he was there.  He got 2nd in board breaks and 3rd in his pattern.  We are so proud of him.  This is something that is hard for Devin, he does not like to be the center of attention when he does not know people that he is around.  So, for him to do this tournament is a great accomplishment.

Going to Help in Devin's class

Just like last year I went into Devin's class when they were going over the letter X.  I brought in a bunch of x-rays for them to look at then we did an art project.  It was so much fun.  They are pretty smart kids.  I would ask them what they were looking at and a lot of the times they were in the right area of the body.
For the art project we used Q-tips and made and x-ray of their forearm and hand!!!!
After talking about x-rays I headed to lunch with Devin's class and then outside to play.  Devin and his Best Friend Ruby play most days together and today was no different.  She is such a sweet girl.
