Picnic

Last Saturday I found this picnic table on a garage sale for $3.00 and Devin loves it!!!! I have been looking for one for awhile, but have not wanted to spend the price for a new one. This one looks brand new, almost like it has never been outside. He loves to sit at "my table" that is what he calls it. So, last night while I was making supper he brought out some grapes and strawberries and ate those while I was cooking. When it was time to eat we asked him where we were going to eat and he said "outside."

He eat pretty good for being outside. I have a feeling this is where we will be eating a lot this spring and summer and maybe into the fall.

Daddy's little helper

Last night Ben really and I mean REALLY needed to get the lawn mowed. Devin thought that he should be able to help. He pushed the lawn mower all the way from the garage to the front yard and wanted to start without Ben. So, Ben let him help for awhile. It was so cute how he would try to push just like daddy. I did have to take Devin for a ride otherwise it would have taken Ben all night to get it done.

Later they got out Devin's gator and filled it with the grass clippings and dumped it. Devin was having fun driving in the backyard and he is really getting the hang of it. He even has reverse down!!!

Alexis' First Dance Recital

This was Alexis' first year of dance and everyone that knows me, knows that I love dance (since I use to teach it). So, my mom, Devin and I went over to watch her first show. Devin got to stay with Uncle Patrick and Austin while we went to the show. At the end of the night we had to get a picture with everyone holding flowers!!!!!
Alexis right before we left for the show. She just got her hair and make-up done and of course no dance show is complete unless you add glitter!!!!!!
Grandma and Alexis
Alexis and I at the recital.
She did so good. I was so proud of her. She knew all of her dances and was even on the right beat most of the time. That is pretty darn good for a 5 year old!

Devin and his new toy

Yesterday Devin's new toy arrived. After work we all went to Wal-Mart to pick up the Gator. Devin was really excited when he realized what was in the big box. When we got home Devin and Ben got it out of the box and started putting it together while I worked on supper. Devin was a good little helper, he only got in the way a few times!!!
After supper we all went outside so Devin could take the Gator for a spin around the yard. He is already to go, but daddy wasn't yet.

Ben helped him around the truck and out into the front of the house then he was off. Stopping and turning are hard, but he will learn really fast how to handle both of those. He was all smiles driving the gator to the backyard and then to the front.
Working on turning. Notice how he has to put all of his muscles into it (what a silly little boy)!!!

He doesn't quite understand the reverse part. I think he finds it easier to just get out and push it. This is what happen every time he got stuck.

Here is a little short video of Devin driving his Gator.

Devin would like to say Thank You to Grandma Phyllis for the gift.

Spring Rain

After work today we were under a severe thunderstorm warning tonight and boy did it rain and not only rain but we also got hail. We opened the door and just watched it rain and was enjoying every minute of it. And when it thundered he would make a WOW face and say "noise" He wasn't scared at all, which is a good thing. Of course after it was done he had his boots and coat on and wanted to go outside.
Ben took the car to the warehouse during part of the storm and luckily it was during the quarter size hail. Devin wasn't too sure about the hail.
Of course we had to check out the puddles!!!!
I absolutely love this one!!!!!!

HE enjoyed the puddles, running through them, jumping and kicking the water. We even had to pull his bike out so he could ride through them. Gotta love Spring rains!!

Visit with Grandma

This last weekend we headed over to Rochester to go and visit grandma. What a great time we all had. On Saturday we walked to the park and did a little shopping. Devin spent some time with grandma blowing bubbles while Ben and I went to Best Buy and Hobby Lobby. After lunch and a little more shopping on Sunday we went to the park to see the ducks, or quacks as Devin calls them. He was not afraid of them at all. He would walk right up to them and follow them all over. It was pretty cute.
We went and sat by the water for a little while and Devin would put his fingers in the water and then try to get you wet. He was having fun trying to get grandma just like she was trying to get him. There were a lot of giggles.
Devin and grandma checking out the water. I love this picture of the two of them. It turned out great, even though I wanted them to be looking at me. But it ended up being the sweetest memory caught by the camera.

One tried little boy from shopping with grandma all day!

Easter

For Easter we went to Jackson to have lunch and some afternoon fun at my grandparent's house. It was a beautiful day and a great lunch. Nothing too big, just a little something with family. After lunch the kids opened their Easter baskets from my mom and of course we had to go outside to blow bubbles.
The bouncing ball was a big hit also. Devin has a hard time bouncing. He likes it, but after the second or third bounce he falls off. It is kind of funny.
Patrick brought over their Gator so the kids had a little something different to play with. This is what happens when Devin gets to drive for the first time. Good things those weren't flowers!!!!!!
He loved riding on it. Thanks Uncle Pat from bringing it over.
We also had an Easter egg hunt in the back yard. We did the hunt two times. And each time Devin would open each egg before it went into his bag.

Easter Morning

Devin was up at 7am and ready to start his morning, so both Ben and I got up because he was going to see his Easter present and the Easter eggs that the Easter Bunny left him. At first he was not so sure about what was going on. But then he realized that he needed to find the eggs and that the eggs had stuff in them. Of course he opened all of the eggs right away and candy was all over the floor. Then he started emptying them into a basket and would throw the eggs at daddy.
Yummy, candy for breakfast!!!!
Dumping the candy out.
Looking for eggs.
They were everywhere!!
When he finally got to his present. He took his basket (which he picked out himself) to daddy and they went emptied it together.
All smiles

His new wiggle racer and bubble wand. Both of these were a big hit!!!

Playing with his new toys. What a lucky little boys!!!

Easter egg hunt

On Saturday morning we went to Winnebago for an Easter egg hunt. Chloe and Sean join Ben, Devin and I. We got there early so we could take a picture with the Easter bunny and Devin was having nothing to do with that. I took Chloe's picture and turned and looked and Devin and Ben were heading to the car. He would stare at the bunny, but didn't want to be put down or be near the bunny. So, we didn't push it and kept our distance.
Devin and Chloe waiting for the egg hunt to start.
Devin would open every egg before he would put it in his basket. He was very disappointed that there was nothing in them. They got a bag of goodies at the end.

Our Family

Enjoying the beautiful weather that we have been having. We have spent a lot of time outside in the last week and can't want to spend even more time outside as the weather gets even nicer.

Coloring Easter Eggs

On Friday night we colored Easter eggs. This year Devin did not get near as colorful as he did last year. He wanted to just drop the eggs in the cups and leave them. I had to pull them out.
Showing daddy his uncolored egg.

Watching mommy pull the eggs out of the water. I tried to get him to do it, nut it did not work.
A finished egg.

Puzzles

For Christmas Devin got a few puzzles and until recently he has seen no interest in them. But now he really likes to sit and put them together. There are times I will change his diaper and then leave the room and he is in there by himself putting his puzzles together. He is getting better at matching the right pieces and telling us what each object or animal is.
He likes to put the cars that he knows together first. He also has to line them up and do all three of them at the same time.

Good Morning sweetheart!!!
