Strawberry picking

Sunday morning we went over to heron Lake to go and pick strawberries. Along the way we stopped in Jackson to pick up Pat, robin, Alexis, and Austin.
Devin and I went to pick strawberries while Ben stayed with the dog. he did pretty well with me. I gave him one strawberry and then he realized that he could pick his own. wow, was he happy and messy. When he was done his face was full of strawberry juice.
I love fruit and strawberries are one of my favorite.
After about an hour and a half of picking (mostly by myself) this is the fruit of our (my) labor.

I love my puppy

I do have to say that Devin really loves his puppy. He will hold are a nd say puppy, puppy over and over. He is really good with her. He has only stepped on her a couple of times, but he is getting better. He wants to carry her every where. We have to keep telling him to put her down.
I love how he hugs her!

Keister Parade

On Saturday we went to Keister in the morning for their parade. It was just Ben, Devin and I (well we brought the puupy too). Devin was really enjoying the parade for the most part. He did a little bored since there were soooo many tractors in the parade. But after the tractors were down the parade got good for him. He had fun picking up the candy. Most of the time he would only go and get the candy with either myself or Ben. But once in awhile he would try to go by himself.
He ended up with so much candy. What a nice time we had.

Newest member of the family

Yesterday we introduced a new member to our family. This is Jordan and she is a 8 week old shih-poo. We thought it would be nice for Devin to have a pet. the introduction went really well. As soon as I showed the puppy to Devin he went "Puppy!!" With a big smile on his face.

He really likes to pet her. He does a good job most of the time. But we have to really watch him so that the nice touches don't turn to rough.
Devin likes to catch after her. Whether it is on his knees crawling or running. But his favorite is trying to walk her.
Then there is the kennel. Need I saw anymore. He likes to take her food and try to feed her. He has not ate any yet, but I'm sure it will happen.

18 month check up

Today I took Devin for his 18 month check-up. And yes he had to get shots. He was not happy with the nurse at all when she left the room. He weighed (with clothes and shoes on) 26.7 pounds; which is a little low (around 50%) but he is gaining so that is the big thing. As for length; 33 inches which puts him in the 60% range. All in all he is right on track and healthy!!!

Trip to Jackson to watch a t-ball game

Last night Devin, my mom, and I went to Jackson to watch Alexis play in her second t-ball game. She did a pretty good job. She was able to hit the ball and even got it a couple of times after someone hit it. Here she is with her daddy (my brother Patrick) and I have to say that I love her pink glove.
Way to go!!! Look at that form.
Before the game we got to the park a little early so that the kids could play. Devin loved playing with EVERYTHING. He was up and down on everything.
He got very brave with the moving bridge. At first he was not too sure about it. But before we were all done he would walk across it all by himself.
The boys found a fun box to play with. Austin really liked Devin's hat and kept trying to take it. He would walk around putting it on his head and then taking it off and the repeating it over and over. They can be so funny some times.
After we were all done and got by to my grandparent's house. Grandpa Charlie called Devin over and he went right over there and sat on his lap. This is big for the great-grandkids. Devin kind-of liked his great-grandpa last night.

One last photo of Devin on the way home. He was so tired, but did not want to give in. I love how big his eyes are in this photo. He dug out his hat from the bag and put it on himself, even though it is inside out, he still looks cute.

Sandbox

Devin and daddy play outside in the sandbox almost on a daily basis. It is usually short lived; like everything Devin does. But he is starting to play a little longer each time. Daddy likes to show Devin how to dig holes. This is hopes that Devin will keep the sand in the sandbox. he seems to think that it is more fun to dump the sand onto the grass. we are working on not doing that.

Rainy Days

Pat, Robin and the kids came over on Sunday for the afternoon. And all of them really wanted to be outside playing, but it was just too cool for them. They were all a little stir crazy, but we had a nice afternoon. It is really hard to get 2 toddlers and a preschool to all sit still and look in the same place for a photo, but this was the best I could do. Devin loves to play with the camera, so it has gotten hard to take pictures of him. He tries to grab the camera and wont give it back.
I love this picture of the two boys. They are watching their dad's and Alexis outside, wishing they could be out there with them.
My little superman. He would only sit for so long and that was barely long enough to get a photo.

New Toy (He Wishes!!!)

On Saturday night we went out with some friends for supper and then back to one of our friends house. The kids and big boys had a lot of fun playing while the girls had quite time upstairs talking. Other than then the rain and cool weather it was a great night. Devin loves (and I mean LOVES) this bike at the neighbor's. Because he can actually sit on it and reach the handle bars. He wants a big boy bike so bad, but he is just too small for one right now. Hopefully next summer. Right now he can just play on it when he goes and plays next door.

Boards

After having to reschedule my boards two times I was not going to not take it this week. So, on Tuesday I drove to the cities; the two hour drive took me three hours, but I made it there. I had to stop every 30-40 minutes to lay down and then walk around. Even with doing that I was still really stiff and sore. Then I sat for two hours to take my test, but I PASSED!!!!!!!! So, it didn't matter how sore I was and that I could barely walk out of the room. All that I cared about was that I was done and that I passed.

After my boards I did a little shopping at Archivers in the Mall of America and then Pam for lunch. We had a nice lunch and a good time catching up. It is different being able to talk face to face verses the phone. All in all it was about a 12 hour day for me and boy was I tired.

Today my back is not a sore or stiff; which is nice. But I am not holding my breath that it will last for long. It is a nice raining day and Devin is sleeping, so Ben and I are going to take the chance to watch a movie!

Motorcycle

Just recently Ben had the motorcycle tuned up. (Oil changed, new tires, etc) When The neighbor brought the bike over it was sitting in the front when Devin got home. He was like "WOW". Of course he wanted to try out this new bike. He enjoyed sitting on the bike and making noises, "VROOM, VROOM."
"I wonder if I can stand on it!!!!"
I think we might have a future rider on our hands.
