Snow Days

This week we have had it all.  It started off with almost thinking that Spring was close.  It was a great taste of Spring of a couple of days.  But then Mother Nature had other plans for us.  She hit us with one really nasty blizzard.  Yes, we got a bunch of snow, but the worst part was that it started off as rain since it was warmer.  Which means for us a nice layer of ice on the ground and then snow covered.  The next morning we woke to the sun shining, but not being able to leave town.  Most roads in Southern Minnesota were closed for a good part of the night and the morning following the storm.  Which bring us to today (Saturday).  The temperature was fairly nice out so that we were able to go out and enjoy the afternoon.

Bowling Fun

On Sunday we went Bowling.  It was great to just have some fun family time outside of the house.

 Devin loved the Cosmic bowling and did not want to leave.

Snow Days

Well it is not Winter in Minnesota unless you can get out and play in the snow.  Well, this winter those days have been limited, but yesterday it was 30 degrees and beautiful.  They were to have a make up school day, but the morning weather was not very nice and they ended up with the day off.  They have had a handful of days off this winter, but they have mostly been from the bitter cold then snow.  It was high 30's yesterday and has hit 40 degrees today and then one more day of nice weather and then another snow it is hit us (a blizzard warning this time) and then some more cold days.  I am so over winter and am in need of nice warm weather.

Cookie Making Class

This Winter and Spring we have signed Devin up for a bunch of different Community Education Classes.  This last week Devin and I did a cookie decorating class.  It was a lot of fun.  We were giving a bunch of cookies and told how to make certain designs and then told to try it ourselves.  It was a hit and the cookies were great tasting too!!!!!!!

Getting ready for Valentine's Day

On Sunday Devin and I worked on making Valentine's for his classmates.  I wanted to do something a little different and a little more crafty.  So I found some ideas and gave Devin a choice.  He picked out this project.  We had fun making it and really was not that hard.

Trip to the Cities for a Wedding

On Friday we headed to the Cities for a Friday night wedding.  My Cousin Brittney got married.  The kids got to enjoy the pool on Friday night and Saturday morning.  Then we headed to the Mall of America for a little shopping.  The boys went to the Lego movie while the Girls went to the American Girl Doll store.  Devin had to make a couple of choices on what to spend his money on.  In the end he ended up with some Legos, even after he said that he had enough!!!!

 

 The Wedding was held at the James Hill Reference Library.  IT was beautiful and we had a nice time.  Below we took the opportunity to have a family photo.  I think it has been a while since just myself, my mom and brother have a had a photo taken.
